HUNTINGTON, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (0-1-0, 0-0-0 CCAC) dropped their season opening game of the 2024 season 3-0 to the Huntington University Foresters (2-1-0) by a final score of 3-0. 

The Foresters took the lead early in the match, scoring their first goal in less than a minute when sophomore midfielder Jianna Simmons scored a goal assisted by Sophie Shepherd that gave Huntington a 1-0 lead. 

Huntington grew their lead in the 14th minute of the contest when junior defensemen Ellie Cirrincione found the back of the net on a goal that was assisted by the first goal scorer Jianna Simmons to extend the Foresters lead to 2-0. 

Huntington scored their final goal of the match in the second half in the 58th minute when sophomore forward Sophie Shepherd scored an unnassisted goal to cap off the Foresters scoring and help lead Huntington to a 3-0 lead. 

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, August 31st, when they host the Anderson University Ravens at 1:00 PM Et at Newton Park.
