LA CROSSE, Wisc.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (0-19, 0-4 CCAC) dropped their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match to the Viterbo University V-Hawks (12-8, 4-0 Conf.) by final scores of 10-25, 12-25, 15-25.
IU South Bend fell to a 10-3 deficit until they cut the Viterbo lead to 11-6. The V-Hawks then rattled off five straight points to extend their lead to 16-6 and ultimately ran away with set one by a final score of 25-10 in favor of Viterbo.
Tied at 3-3 in set two, the V-Hawks went on a run to take a 12-5 lead. The IU South Bend Titans could not gain the lead for the remainder of set two and eventually fell to the V-Hawks by a final score of 25-12 in the set.
IU South Bend fell to a 13-6 deficit in set three before they cut their deficit to just six points at 16-10. The V-Hawks then scored nine of the final fourteen points to take the match, winning set three by a final score of 25-15.
The IU South Bend offense was led by
Macy Sherman and
Ryleigh Grott who each finished with six kills while setters
Emma Knowlton and
Brynn Lake led the Titans passing game with eight assists a piece. The IUSB defense was ledy by
Sydney Hanna who finished with double digit digs.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Tuesday, September 24th when they host the Indiana University Northwest Redhawks at 7:00 PM ET in the Student Activities Center.
