Another Sweeping Success

IU South Bend continued its winning ways with a sweep of Mount Mary at home on Tuesday night.

SOUTH BEND --- The Titans took to the floor on Tuesday, boasting a three-match winning streak all without dropping a set. The streak continued with a convincing showing against Mount Mary, as IU South Bend dominated for a 25-17, 25-15, 25-20 rout.

IUSB made Tuesday night extra special, as the match was dedicated to the Side-Out Foundation. The "Dig Pink" night was held to bring support and awareness to breast cancer research. 

In the play on the court, everything slanted toward the Titans. The host squad won the battle in all facets of the match, outplaying the Blue Angels in kills (41-17), aces (12-1), blocks (5-2), and digs (41-35).

The IUSB defense at the net was particularly strong, forcing 15 Mount Mary attack errors, while only allowing 17 kills. The visitors hit just .026 for the match and notched just four kills in set number two.

Alyssa Carson led a well-balanced Titan attack with 10 kills on 14 swings for a .571 hitting percentage. 11 different Titans logged at least one kill, while ten players picked up multiple kills. 

The reigning CCAC Setter of the Week, Brynn Lake, kept up her impressive play with 26 assists. She went on to add an incredible four aces, as she tacked on seven points on Tuesday. 

Abby Weber and Sydney Hanna took care of the Mount Mary attacks combining for 23 digs with 12 and 11, respectively. Weber hit double-digit digs for the fourth time this season on Tuesday.

The Titans will be back in action next Tuesday, hitting the road to face St. Francis at 7:00 pm CT.
