IUSB Hosts St. Ambrose

Rylee Cotton stopped 17 shots but the Titans could not overcome the Fighting Bees.

SOUTH BEND --- The shot attempts were raining in from both teams on Saturday in a matchup between IU South Bend and St. Ambrose. A combined 37 shots came through, as St. Ambrose came out ahead 3-0 over the Titans.

Rylee Cotton saw 17 shots come her way in the first half. She notched 12 saves in the first 45 minutes, before ending the match with 17 saves. Cotton faced 27 shots and 22 shots on-goal throughout the contest on the way to her highest save total this year and the most since she grabbed 20 in her freshman campaign against Viterbo.

The IUSB offense took its chances, sending in 10 shots on Saturday. Seven Titans logged shots, including five landing on-goal.

Unfortunately, the attacks on the net were unable to get through for the Titans, as two first half goals and one second half goal from the Bees put the match away.

IU South Bend will be back at home on Tuesday, facing Olivet Nazarene at 5:00 pm.
