Let the Good Times Roll

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. --- IU South Bend Volleyball (11-17, 7-6 CCAC) continued its hot streak with its sixth-straight win on Thursday night. The Titans completed the sweep over Governors State (8-20, 7-7 CCAC) on the road in a 25-20, 25-22, 25-19 final score.

IUSB won its fifth sweep of its last six games, winning all six against conference opponents. The winning ways put the Titans above .500 in conference play and has them sitting in sixth place in the conference standings with five games left on the schedule.

The Titans were sharp from start to finish, hitting .242 as a team while holding the Jaguars to just .200.

Alyssa Carson led the offensive charge once again, posting a match-high and season-best 17 kills on .324 hitting, along with another season-high five service aces and 22.5 total points. Emalee Maesch followed closely with 11 kills and six digs, while Kimora Gorman added 10 kills and three block assists.

Setter Brynn Lake orchestrated the offense with precision, handing out 35 assists and contributing two aces and led the team with 17 digs to complete a strong all-around performance. Ryleigh Grott chipped in with five kills, two aces, and two blocks, while Sydney Hanna added to the defensive effort with 14 digs.

IU South Bend's consistency from the service line and defensive energy proved too much for Governors State to handle. The Titans closed each set on decisive scoring runs, maintaining control throughout the night.

The Titans will look to keep their winning streak alive as they are set to face Calumet College of St. Joseph on Tuesday on the road at 8:00 pm.
