Late Opportunities Slip Away as Titans Fall on the Road at IU East

RICHMOND, Ind. --- The Titans (8-5) led for most of the afternoon on Saturday but IU East had one final push in the final quarter. The hosting Red Wolves overcame IU South Bend in the waning seconds for a 70-68 finish.

Senior guard Bradie Chambers delivered one of the best all-around performances of her career, nearing a triple-double in 39 minutes on the court. She capped her day with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists, while adding a block and a steal. She orchestrated a Titans offense that knocked down nine threes and assisted on 18 baskets, controlling tempo for much of the game.

Aubrie Booker added 15 points with three triples, Keylee Hudson chipped in 14, and Tenleigh Phelps contributed six points and seven boards, plus five assists.

IU South Bend took a 52-44 lead into the final quarter after Hudson scored six straight points midway through the third, followed by a Phelps-assisted Arcella three that stabilized the margin.

Hudson kicked off the fourth with a score to give the Titans a 10-point lead, but IU East responded immediately. The hosting squad began chipping away with a triple with the rest of the quarter up for grabs.

A 14-2 run turned the game upside down, as IU East took the lead with just under two minutes remaining. As the clock ticked past 60 seconds left, Phelps came up clutch and tied the game at 68, nailing a long ball off a Chambers pass.

IU East reclaimed the lead 70-68 on the next possession with 30 seconds remaining, leaving IUSB with time to respond. The Titans did well on the offensive boards, getting three chances on the final possession but all three shots went wide.

Despite the loss, the Titans won points in the paint 34-30, posted 11 second-chance points, and forced 17 IU East turnovers.

IU South Bend is right back on the court on Sunday, facing off against IU Columbus at 2:00 pm.
