SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (17-7, 10-7 CCAC) lost to the Saint Xavier University Cougars (8-15, 6-10 CCAC) by a final score of 74-62.
Trailing by one point with just two minutes left in the period IU South Bend managed to gain the lead by scoring the last four points of the quarter to take a 16-13 lead heading into the second quarter.
The second quarter proved to belong to the Titans as they outscored Saint Xavier 23-11 in the period to take a 15 point lead heading into halftime.
Thursday's third quarter favored the Cougars with them outscoring IUSB 26-16 in the quarter to cut their deficit to just five points heading into the final quarter.
Saint Xavier started out the fourth quarter shooting hot, scoring the first seven points to gain the lead over IU South Bend.
Back and forth through the remainder of the period was not enough for the Titans as they fell to the Saint Xavier Cougars by a final score of 74-62.
The IU South Bend offense featured three players to score in double figures, led by guard
Jazmen Watts who finished with 15 points.
Watts' 15 points came on four made field goals while shooting 5-6 from the free throw line and also hauling in five rebounds.
Another Titan to reach double digits was freshman
Aubrie Booker who finished with 13 points.
Booker's 13 points came on 75% shooting from the field in just 19 minutes of playing time.
The last Titan to score in double figures was
Sullivan Kessler who finished with 10 points.
Kessler's 10 points came on better than 50% shooting from the field (5-9) while also distributing a team high four assists.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, February 15th when host their final home game of the regular season against Viterbo University at 1:00 PM in the
Student Activities Center.
