Titans sweep season series over Saint Ambrose

DAVENPORT, Iowa- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (17-6, 10-6 CCAC) defeated the Saint Ambrose University Fighting Bees (8-15, 6-10 CCAC) by a final score of 65-50 to extend their winning streak to two consecutive games.

Tied at 11-11 with three minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Titans closed out the period 7-4 run to take a three point lead into the second quarter.

The second quarter proved to be more of the same as IU South Bend put up their best offensive period, scoring 22 points and outscoring the Fighting Bees by five to take a 40-32 lead heading to halftime.

Both the third and fourth quarters saw the Titans hold the Fighting Bees to just nine points, helping them go on to a 65-50 win over Saint Ambrose.

A less than normally potent IU South Bend offense still managed to feature three scorers in double figures, led by Keylee Hudson who finished with 15 points.

Hudson's 15 points came on 50% shooting from the field (7-14) while also securing five rebounds and recording three steals in the win.

Another Titan to score in double figures was Tenleigh Phelps who finished with 11 points.

Phelps' 11 points also came on 50% shooting (4-8) while finishing with five assists, falling just one shy of tying her season high.

The last Titan to score in double figures was freshman guard Aubrie Booker who finished with 10 points.

Booker's 10 points marks her third time in the last five games that she scored in double figures.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, February 12th, when they host the Cougars of Saint Xavier University at 5:30 PM ET in the Student Activities Center
