JOLIET, Ill. - The Indiana University South Bend (22-30, 17-15 CCAC) baseball team lost to Olivet Nazarene University (25-25, 18-14 CCAC) 4-3 in the first losers bracket game of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament, bringing the Titans 2025 season to a close.

Olivet Nazarene got out to an early 1-0 lead scoring a single run in the bottom of the first inning on triple that was lost in the sun. ONU added another run in the bottom of the third inning on a weak single up the middle to take a 2-0 lead. The Titans finally got on the board in the top of the fourth inning on a ONU defensive miscue that brought allowed Kaleb Farnham to score and bring the Titans within one. ONU responded with two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sacrifice bunt and a RBI single, chasing starting pitcher Gabe Cortez out of the game and making way for Riley Thomas on the mound. Thomas would hold ONU scoreless for the remainder of the game, giving the Titans a chance to spark a comeback. The Titan offense would bring the game within one again scoring two runs in the seventh inning on RBI singles from Gabe Cortez and Kaleb Farnham. With the score at 4-3 in favor of ONU in the ninth inning Jack Ryan hit a one out single to left field to start potential comeback. Gabe Cortez followed Ryan and hit into a game ending double play ending the Titans season. Jack Ryan was the sole Titan with a multi-hit game going two-for-four with a run scored. Cortez and Farnham were the only Titans to have a RBI each having one. Cortez started on the mound for IUSB lasting 3.1 innings giving up four runs on nine hits and one strikeout. Riley Thomas shut down ONU out of the bullpen throwing 4.2 innings giving up no runs on just one hit and one strikeout.

The baseball season comes to an end in the CCAC tournament with their second loss finishing the year with an overall record of 22-30, a four win improvement from 2024. The Titans finished the year with 17 wins in CCAC play a seven win improvement from last season.
