SOUTH BEND, IN. – The IU South Bend women's soccer team (2-3, 0-0 CCAC) faced a tough challenge at home on Tuesday, falling 2-0 to Albion College (4-1, 0-0 MIAA) at Newton Park. Despite a strong effort from goalkeeper Rylee Cotton, who made 11 saves, the Titans were unable to overcome the Britons' offensive pressure.
Albion College got on the scoreboard first when Micaela Hohlbein scored an unassisted goal at the 19:21 mark. The Britons continued to put pressure on the IU South Bend defense throughout the game, tallying 22 shots, with 13 on goal. In contrast, the Titans were held to just 5 shots, with 2 on goal.
The Britons sealed their victory in the second half with a penalty kick goal from Claire Gorno at the 81:52 mark.
The Titans will look to bounce back in their next contest at Anderson University on September 13. The game is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 PM.
