Box Score ANDERSON, IN - The IU South Bend women's soccer team (2-3-1, 0-0-0 CCAC) traveled to Anderson, Indiana, today to take on the Anderson University Ravens (2-2-1, 0-0-0 HCAC) at Fridley Field. After a hard-fought battle, the Titans secured a 1-1 draw, extending their record to 2-2-1 on the season.
The match remained scoreless until the 60th minute, when Anderson's Izzy Cameron broke the tie with an unassisted goal. The Titans' defense held strong for the remainder of the half, and their persistence on offense finally paid off in the 89th minute. Sophomore forward Yulissa Gallegos found the back of the net with an unassisted goal, bringing the score to a 1-1 tie just before the final whistle.
The Titans showed a strong offensive presence, outshooting the Ravens 14-10. IU South Bend also had 9 shots on goal compared to Anderson's 5. Goalkeeper Rylee Cotton had another solid performance, making four saves to keep the Titans in the game. On the other end of the field, Anderson's goalkeeper, Adrienne Weyers, was tested throughout the game, making nine saves.
The team will look to build on this result in their next match. The Titans are back in action on September 17, when they travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to take on Mount Mary College.
