Strong Defensive Effort Powers Titans Past Viterbo on the Road

LA CROSSE, Wis. --- IU South Bend hit the road on Saturday and put together a strong effort for a conference win. The IUSB squad defeated Viterbo 68-52 at R.W. Beggs, Sr. Gymnasium with an impressive defensive showing.

The Titans (19-8, 14-5 CCAC) set the tone early, forcing contested shots and limiting second-chance opportunities. IU South Bend held Viterbo to just 32.8 percent shooting for the game and 8-of-32 (25 percent) from three-point range, including 12.5 percent from deep in the second half.

IU South Bend built a 34-27 halftime lead behind a 10-4 run over the final four minutes. The Titans shot 62.5 percent in the second half to create real separation while continuing to disrupt Viterbo's rhythm, stretching the lead to as many as 18 points late in the contest.

Andrew Hedgepeth led the offensive charge with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Mark White added 11 points and six rebounds. Ethan Hill recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring the defensive glass for his sixth double-double this season.
