Offense Soars on Senior Day

SOUTH BEND --- On a day dedicated to honoring their senior, Tenleigh Phelps, the Titans delivered one of their most complete offensive efforts of the season, defeating Viterbo 95-84 on Senior Day at the Student Activities Center. The victory lifted IU South Bend to 18-7 overall and 13-4 in CCAC play, while marking the third-highest point total of the Titans' season.

Phelps, celebrated pregame for her decorated career, rewarded the home crowd with another standout performance: 19 points, six rebounds, and three assists while shooting 4-for-8 from the field and 10-for-11 at the line. Her poise and physicality helped stabilize IUSB throughout a fast-paced matchup against the V-Hawks.

The Titans struck early, scoring the game's first eight points and never trailing. IU South Bend shot 50 percent in the opening quarter and held a 25-22 lead after 10 minutes, with early threes from Booker and Phelps setting the tone.

But it was the 12-0 run beginning at the 5:01 mark of the second quarter that broke the game open and created separation IUSB would maintain the rest of the afternoon. With the score 38-38, the Titans began to roll:

Ava Grant kicked off the burst, landing a layup before drilling a three off a Fulks assist, pushing the lead to 43-38.

Just over a minute later, Grant hit another jumper, and by the 2:13 mark, Booker splashed a three, completing the 12-0 rally and giving IUSB a 50-38 advantage.

IUSB took a 52-40 lead into halftime and pushed the cushion as high as 19 points midway through the third quarter and again in the fourth stanza.

The offense continued to hum throughout the day. IU South Bend shot 50 percent from the floor, hit 11 threes, and went 22-for-26 at the line, showcasing efficiency across its rotation. Two Titans joined Phelps with 19-point performances:

Aubrie Booker – 19 points, all from beyond the arc (4-for-10), plus 7-of-8 free throws.

Kenzie Fulks – 19 points and 6 assists, controlling pace and contributing three made threes.

Keylee Hudson – 16 points, finishing strong at the rim and hitting timely jumpers.

Bradie Chambers added 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while providing pressure on defense with three steals. Grant provided a spark off the bench with nine points, including two made threes during the decisive second-quarter run.

The Titans are set to finish out the regular season next week, beginning with a Monday matchup at IU Northwest at 6:00 pm.
