Indiana University South Bend

Dave Waddell joins the IU South Bend coaching staff in 2016. Dave will assist in recruiting efforts for the Titans.

Dave is a product of Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana where he led the pitching staff with the lowest earned run average in his senior season. Dave moved on to pitch for Kankakee Community College and Maryville University-St. Louis where Waddell’s career was shortened due to an arm injury.

Waddell has spent time coaching at the high school level both as an assistant and a head coach. Waddell’s last stint was five years as the assistant varsity/pitching coach for the Hobart Brickies. His last year at Hobart was 2014 where Dave helped coach the Brickies to their first Sectional Championship in 21 years and the highest team winning percentage in school history.

Dave has helped numerous players move onto the next level including 2014 MLB Hobart high school draftee Brandon Murray who is currently pitching for the University of South Carolina.
