    Assistant Coach

Katie Hacker, a familiar face of IU South Bend athletics, enters her second season under Coach Bruce’s, after a decorated playing career with the Titans.

Hacker's name can be found throughout the IU South Bend record books, as she holds the career mark for total rebounds (853), second in total points (1,573), third in free throws made (357), fifth in field goals made (539), sixth in steals (158), eighth in three-point field goals made (138) and ninth in assists (199).

“I remember thirty some years ago seeing a movie called “The Right Stuff”, about the astronauts that participated in the Apollo space program.    The ones who made it through the program were the best of the best and had intangibles that separated them out.  Those intangibles came to be known as “the right stuff”.  Katie Hacker has “The right stuff," said Head Coach Steve Bruce.

Hacker earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University South Bend.
