Adam Rykse enters into his third season on the IU South Bend volleyball coaching staff in 2021, and his first as the Titans' head coach.
Rykse comes to South Bend after serving as an assistant volleyball coach at Valparaiso University from 2016-19. He previously spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a graduate assistant at Valpo and helped the program to 109 victories over his five years on staff.
In between his times at VU, Rykse also served as the Michigan State volleyball program's video and statistical coordinator.
Rykse came to Valpo from Muskegon C.C., where he served as an assistant coach in 2012 after spending the 2011 season as a hitting instructor.  Rykse had previously assisted with video and photo work for statistics at Muskegon.  He also served as the school's sports information director for the 2012-2013 school year.
Beyond his duties at Muskegon, Rykse spent the 2012-13 season as the head coach of the Inside Out Juniors 17-1 team. Â He also previously served as videographer and statistican at Davenport University from 2006-2009, and spent his high school years as a team manager at Ravenna High School.
Rykse is a 2012 graduate of Michigan State University, and received his master's degree in sports administration from Valparaiso University in 2015. Â While at MSU, he competed on the nationally-ranked club volleyball team for four years.
