Jamie Ashmore became the first IU South Bend volleyball coach when the program began in 2011.

After the NAIA pushed fall sport competitions to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Titans went 13-6 overall in a condensed 2020-21 season. IUSB saw its season come to an end in heartbreaking fashion with a five-set CCAC Semifinals setback at the hands of top-seeded Olivet Nazarene on April 8. The Titans displayed resiliency during the 2020-21 campaign, playing three to four games per week after having their season cut short due to the IU regional campus shutdown from late November to early February. Hannah Marchand, McKenzie Powell and Julie Brown garnered all-conference nods while Marchand and Powell received all-region honors. In her second year donning the Crimson and Cream, Marchand also grabbed an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention awards.

In her ninth season at the helm, IUSB had a record-breaking season when the Titans went 22-14 overall and 14-4 during CCAC play to finish second in the league standings, which is their highest ranking in program history. IU South Bend went on to appear in its third CCAC Championship match adn second NAIA National Tournament before falling in a heart-breaking 3-2 loss at Madonna to conclude the season.

During 2019, junior Hannah Marchand became the first Titan in program history to become CCAC Co-Player of the Year while the Sturgis, Mich. native also garnered NAIA Honorable Mention honors. Sophomore McKenzie Powell became the all-time assist leading in program history to earn AVCA All-Region honors with Marchand to go along with a CCAC First-team nod.

The 2016 season was one for the record books as the Titans made a run through the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament  advancing to the championship match, dropping a close contest to the University of St. Francis, 3-2.  This runner-up finish earned them their first ever trip to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament.

Coach Ashmore has garnered four winning seasons including a program best 22 wins during the 2019 campaign.

During Ashmore’s tenure 15 Titans have been named to CCAC All-Conference teams and 27 players named to the CCAC All-Academic squad.  

Coach Ashmore has compiled a career record of 159-149 including a 96-66 mark in CCAC play.

Prior to her move to IU South Bend, Ashmore served as an administrator for Dunes Volleyball Club in Rolling Prairie, Ind. While at Dunes, she was responsible for tryouts, camps, and marketing materials, in addition to her coaching duties. On the court, Ashmore led the club's top 15U team to a first-place finish in the Bronze Division at the AAU Nationals in Orlando.

As a collegiate standout at Grand Valley State, Ashmore was a four-year starter, leading her team to the 2005 NCAA Division II National Championship as a freshman, and deep into the NCAA Tournament as a junior and senior, reaching the Elite 8 and Final Four during those years, respectively. During the NCAA Championship season, she was named as a second team All-American. As a junior, she earned first team All-Region and All-GLIAC selections and was named the Most Valuable Player during the GLIAC conference tournament, a recognition she also garnered during her senior season. Additionally, In that final year, she played in all 136 games of the Laker's 37 matches.

As a high school star at La Porte High School, Ashmore was named team MVP twice and was a two-time Herald Argus Player of the Year. In addition, she earned All-State, All-Area and Duneland Athletic Conference honors during her final two seasons with the Slicers. She currently holds school records in assists, service aces, set attempts and games played.
