Skylar Wood enters her first season as the assistant coach of the IU South Bend women's volleyball program.
Skylar’s most recent coaching experience saw her serve as the head coach for KIVA 11Red a top 11s team in the nation from her hometown of Louisville Kentucky. Leading them to undefeated weekends, tournament wins, and landing at fifth in the nation at AAU Nationals in Orlando, Florida.
Before being a head coach at KIVA, Skylar was the assistant for Indiana Tech’s Men’s Volleyball Program for their 2022 season. A preseason full of scrimmage wins and a regular season of 29-3. With a great season, Skylar assisted in Indiana Tech’s second year making it to the NAIA National Tournament in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Before her tenure at Indiana Tech, Skylar served as a coach, camp director, and clinic coordinator for Louisville Fury Volleyball Club along with SKEVA two clubs in separate regions of Kentucky.
Skylar has attended Western Kentucky University, Purdue Fort Wayne, and prior to those universities Assumption High School in Louisville Kentucky.
Skylar played at both Assumption and KIVA, had her first year of college at Western Kentucky then became a collegiate coach at 19 under Kyle Shondell at Indiana Tech.
