GRANGER, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend baseball swept a doubleheader against Calumet College of St. Joseph at Rex Weade Stadium Sunday, March 28. The Titans outlasted the Crimson Wave in seven innings to take game one 10-3, before completing the sweep with a 11-0 run-rule victory in game two.
With the wins, IUSB moves to 9-13 overall on the season and 5-3 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Game One: IUSB 10, CCSJ 3
After giving up a run to start the game, an offensive heavy three-run bottom half for the Titans resulted in a two-run lead.
Logan Smith lead with a right field double and was brought around off a
Logan Young single. Young would eventually score in the inning along with
Jordan Moore after the senior stole home.
IUSB quickly picked up again in the third, adding two runs off a hit and a fielding error by the Crimson Wave third baseman. This time, Young got things started with a walk while
TJ DeHerrera reached after wearing one off his back. Catcher
Scott Stetz brought in Young with a single while DeHerrera came in off the error.
The CCSJ offense doubled its run count from the first inning with a pair in the fourth, making the score 5-2. The Titans sealed the seven-run CCAC victory with a cushion run in the fourth and four more in the fifth.
Sophomore
Robbie Berger earned his second win this season on the mound. The South Bend, Ind. native tossed fix innings allowing six hits and striking out a career-high 11. Senior
Matt Smith pitched the final two innings and did not give up a single hit. The shutout included just one walk and three strike outs.
Offensively, IUSB's 10 runs came on seven hits and three walks. Smith and Stetz led the way as they both registered multi-hit games. Smith went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while Stetz knocked 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Game One: IUSB 11, CCSJ 0
IU South bend notched 11 hits in the nightcap, with
Jared Bais and Young leading the way. Bais finished the double dip 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored while Young went 3-for-4 with a run driven in and two runs scored.
Tyler Welborn was the other Titan with double-digit hits as the junior went 2-for-3 with a double.
Sophomore
Zack Dobos came through with a complete seven inning shutout in the finale. Dobos struck out a season-high nine and scattered four hits.
The Titans broke through the shutout in the fifth frame, scoring six off five hits. DeHerrera connected on an RBI single, driving in Smith, while Moore knocked a two-run double to left center. Bais' final hit came from a left field double, driving home pinch runner
Nick Banks and DeHerrera. The final run of the inning occurred when Bais came home off a
Nolan Lorenz ground out.
IUSB made the most of the Crimson Wave in the sixth, as the Titans added five insurance runs off two hits and seven combined miscues from the CCSJ catcher and pitcher.
The series finale game between the Titans and Crimson Wave is slated for Monday, March 29 at Rex Weade Stadium. First pitch for the CCAC nine-inning game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
