Volleyball Secures Fourth Seed in CCAC Tournament with Sweep Over CCSJ

The Titans are set to host the CCAC quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. IU South Bend will either welcome St. Ambrose or Cardinal Stritch into South Bend, Ind. and will be announced later this evening.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend volleyball concluded the regular-season 7-1 at home during the 2020-21 campaign after cruising past Calumet College of St. Joseph with its eighth sweep of the year Thursday night, April 1.  With the win, the Titans finish fourth in the overall conference standings with an overall record of 12-5.

There was no fooling around inside the Student Activities Center on Aprils Fools Day as the Titans earned the 25-10, 25-13 and 25-17 victory, their third straight win as they enter the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

Hannah Marchand led the all players with 15 kills while Julie Brown and Alexis Issette followed behind with eight and seven, respectively. Marchand also added five block assists while Issette delivered two service aces.

Junior McKenzie Powell collected another double-double on the season with team-high's in assists (35) and digs (11).

IU South Bend attacked at its best in the third set, collecting 16 kills off 29 attempts with a set-low two errors (.483). For the game, the Titan offense attacked at a .354 clip and held CCSJ to just a .050 attacking percentage.

The Titans held advantages in almost every category, including kills (43-24), aces (3-2), blocks (5-1), assists (40-24) and digs (53-43) to help seal the win and take over sole possession of fourth place in the league standings.
