Indiana University South Bend cranked out a program record 22 runs after shattering the program record of hits in a game with 23, surpassing the old record off 22 that occurred back on March 20, 2016. The double-digit hit performance is also the 14th time IUSB has done so this season.

Seven different Titans ripped double-digits on Friday afternoon, leading the group was senior TJ DeHerrera and junior transfer Jake Vanderwoude who each went 4-for-5 with four runs scored. Vanderwoude was just a bomb shy of hitting a cycle while DeHerrera added his tenth home run to go along with his tenth double of the season.

Jordan Moore, Jared Bais, Scott Stetz and Colin Mack added three hits apiece as they all finished 3-for-5 on the day. Bais and Mack added two runs scored, and Moore and Stetz plated three RBIs. Logan Smith belted a triple in a 2-for-4 showing.

Sophomore Zack Dobos turned in a quality start, throwing the complete seven innings on his way to his fourth win of the season. He scattered seven hits and allowed two runs, while striking out a career-high 10 to finish off the win.

Bais and DeHerrera led the game off with a double and a homer, to put IUSB ahead 3-0 right away.

The Titans boosted their lead to double digits with a run in the second, three in the third and four in the fourth. Trinity Christian broke through with its two runs in the bottom of the fifth, breaking IUSB's scoreless streak of three innings.

The Crimson and Cream added to its lead in a big way in the fifth, plating 10 runs on nine hits. Bais led things off with a one-out single down the left field line and DeHerrera reached with a hit to put runs on first and second with two outs. Nolan Unger knocked a RBI single to right field and Vanderwoude followed with a two-run double to extend Indiana University South Bends advantage to 14-2. Mack and Smith tripled before Stetz cushioned the lead with a two-run single, making it 21-2.

IU South Bend added one more insurance run in the sixth. Mack got things started with a one-out double before Moore ripped the program-record 23rd hit of the game with an RBI single. The Titans look to remain hot tomorrow, concluding the weekend series with Trinity Christian at home. First pitch of the CCAC doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Rex Weade Stadium.
