MISHAWAKA, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (1-0, 0-0 CCAC) defeated the Bethel Pilots (1-1, 0-0 Crossroads) 75-62 to begin the season.
Forward
Rachael Robards led the IU South Bend Titans in scoring in the season opener with 21 points, as she shot 75% from the field and 5-8 from behind the three point line. Robards also finished with five rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Other scorers in double figures include
Katie Gard who finished with 17 points and
Maddie Gard who finished with 11 points.
Leading rebounder Tia Chambers finished just short of double-double status with seven points and eight rebounds.
Senior guard
Emma Fisher logged the most minutes for the Titans in the opener, securing six rebounds and dishing out four assists while playing in 33 of the 40 minutes in the contest.
The IU South Bend Titans return to action on Tuesday, November 1, at 5:00 PM when they take on the Wolverines of Michigan-Dearborn in the Student Activities Center.
