JOLIET, Ill.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (14-12, 12-3 CCAC) defeated the Fighting Saints of Saint Francis in five sets by scores of 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 18-16. Saturday night's win clinches a home CCAC Quarterfinal match for the Titans as they have secured their spot within the top four of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
IU South Bend was led by senior outside hitter
Alexis Issette who finished with 18 kills in the contest, her career high as a Titan.
McKenzie Powell shined in all aspects of the game, posting yet another double-double with 47 assists and 13 digs. Powell also had seven kills, leaving her just short of a triple-double, a feat that is rarely accomplished in volleyball.
Amber Jacobs also reached double-double status with 19 digs and 13 kills in the five-set victory over the fighting Saints.
Suriya Van der Oord led the IU South Bend defense with 21 digs.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action for Senior Night on Tuesday, November 1st, at 7:30 PM in the Student Activities Center as they take on the RedHawks of Indiana University Northwest. Seniors
