Titans sweep Governors State

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (2-17, 2-5 CCAC) defeated the Governors State University Jaguars (0-19, 0-9 CCAC) by scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-14.

The IU South Bend offense was led by senior middle hitter Felisha Campanello who finished with career highs in kills with 10 and attack percentage by hitting .667 in Tuesday's win.

Campanello also finished with a team high four aces and threw in two blocks to contribute to her career night.

Senior hitter Alexis Joyner finished second in kills with 9 while posting an impressive .438 attack percentage. Joyner's nine kills left her two short of her season high which she posted in the Titans last contest against Goshen College.

Senior hitter Abby Seeger continued her reign on opposing offenses, blocking five Governors State attacks to extend her conference lead in blocks per set. At 1.04 blocks per set, Seeger is the only player in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference to average more than one block per set.

The IU South Bend passing attack featured two Titans to post double-digit assists. Sophomore setter Emma Knowlton led the Titans with 17 assists, moving her into third place in assists per set in the CCAC.

Freshman setter Brynn Lake chipped in with 14 assists, her third game this year with double-digit assists.

Defensive specialist Sydney Hanna led the Titans in digs with 13, giving her a total of 325 digs in the season, which extends her CCAC lead in total digs to 19 more than any other play in the conference.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans have a week off of play before returning to action on Tuesday, October 17th, when they travel to Bourbonnais, Ill., to take on the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene University at 8:00 PM ET.
