Titans defeat St. Francis behind Phelps' record breaking 42 points

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (10-0, 4-0 CCAC) defeated the University of Saint Francis Fighting Saints (6-5, 2-2 CCAC) by a final score of 86-69.

Saturday's win ties a program record set last year for the most consecutive wins to begin a season.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans were led by junior guard Tenleigh Phelps who broke the IU South Bend scoring record for both men and women by finishing Saturday's contest with a record breaking 42 points.

Phelps' 42 points came on on better than 77% shooting from the field (17-22) while also knocking down two three points field goals and six of the eight free throws that she attempted.

The other Titan to record double figures was Maddie Gard who finished with 18 points.

Gard's 18 points came on better than 50% shooting from the field while also hauling in seven rebounds in the victory.

Guards Emma Fisher and Jazmen Watts both finished just shy of double-double status.
