DEERFIELD, Ill.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (23-2, 16-2 CCAC) defeated the Trinity International University Trojans (3-22, 1-17 CCAC) by a score of 67-30. Saturday's victory keeps the Titans tied for first place in the CCAC, a tie that will be broken on Wednesday when the Titans host IU Northwest for the outright conference lead.
Offensively, IU South Bend featured four scorers in double figures led by
Emma Fisher who finished with a game high 12 points on 6-9 shooting from the field.
Both
Tia Chambers and
Katie Gard finished Saturday's victory with 11 points on 50 percent shooting from the field. Chambers finished three rebounds shy of double-double status while Gard knocked down two of the three Titans three point field goals.
The last Titan to reach double figures was junior guard
Jazmen Watts, finishing with 10 points on 5-12 shooting from the field. Watts has now posted double digits in the scoring column in three consecutive contests.
Defensively, the Titans held Trinity International to single digits in three of the game's four quarters while forcing 34 Trojan turnovers that led to 29 IU South Bend points.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, February 15th, in what could arguably be their biggest game of the year when they host the IU Northwest RedHawks at 5:30 PM in a game that will move the winner into first place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
