Titans take season series over Judson with 7-3 victory, extend winning streak to four games

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (10-16, 6-3 CCAC) defeated the Judson University Eagles (6-13, 3-6 CCAC) by a score of 7-3.

Tuesday's victory gives the Titans the series win over Judson two games to one and also extends the IU South Bend winning streak to a season high four straight games. 

Nine different IU South Bend Titans toed the rubber in Tuesday's nine inning contest, combining to allow just one earned run. Matt Lood, Bryson Taylor, Josh Chajet, Riley Getman, Payton Carney, Taylor Clifton, and Jack Kienzle all threw scoreless frames.

As a whole, the staff struck out 11 Judson Eagles with both Cal Whitaker and Josh Chajet punching out two while southpaw Taylor Clifton struck out all three hitters he faced in his inning of work. 

IU South Bend got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Kole Miller reached on an error that scored Logan Smith, followed by a Drew Barber RBI single to cut the Judson lead to 3-2.

The Titans plated three more runs thanks to RBI singles from Logan Smith, Kole Miller, and Kaleb Farnham, which gave them a 5-3 lead heading into the seventh.

Logan Smith picked up his third hit and third RBI of the day with a 2 RBI double that plated Jake VanderWoude and Donnie Necas to give the Titans some insurance runs.

IU South Bend went to to win Tuesday's rubber match by a score of 7-3. 

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Friday, March 31st, when they host Saint Ambrose University in a single nine inning game, looking to extend their winning streak to five games.
