Box Score DAVENPORT, Iowa- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (11-5, 6-2 CCAC) fell to the Fighting Bees of Saint Ambrose University (8-8, 5-3 CCAC) in overtime by a final score of 75-71.
Sunday's loss marks back to back losses for the Titans and drops IU South Bend to third place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Sunday's overtime affair saw the Titans outscore the Fighting Bees by 10 points in the games first 20 minutes before being outscored by 10 points in the second half to bring the game tied at 59-59 at the end of regulation.
With a shot to win the game with five seconds left in regulation, the Titans could not score.
Saint Ambrose outscored IU South Bend by four points in overtime to take a 75-71 victory.
The IUSB offense featured three different players to score in double figures, led by senior forward
Dejon Barney who finished with a game high 19 points.
Barney's 19 points came on nearly 50% shooting from the field while also knocking down a season high seven free throws.
Barney also hauled in 13 rebounds, earning him his eighth double-double of the season.
The next Titan to score double digits was guard
Quentez Columbus who finished with 13 points.
Columbus' 13 points came on nearly 50% shooting from the field while also dishing out six assists and securing six rebounds, both tying his season high.
The last Titan to record double figures was guard
Micah Poole who finished with 11 points while tying for a team high in minutes played with 37.
Poole's 11 points gives him double digit points in five of his last six games played.
At 49% shooting from the field, 39% shooting from the three point line, and 85% shooting from the free throw line, Poole has his sights set on a 50/40/90 season.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, January 17th when they travel to Elgin, Ill., to take on the Eagles of Judson University.
