SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (14-0, 6-0) defeated the Calumet College of Saint Joseph Crimson Wave (1-11, 0-6) by a final score of 102-40. Saturday's win extends the Titans winning streak to 14 straight games and keeps them in first place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
A red hot IU South Bend offense saw four different Titans to score in double figures, led by
Jazmen Watts who finished with a game high 23 points.
Watts' 23 points came on better than 63% shooting from the field (7-11) including two three point field goals. Watts' seven made free throws earns her a new career high from the charity stripe.
The next Titan record double figures was fifth year guard
Katie Gard who finished with 17 points.
Gard's 17 points came via 50% shooting from the free throw line (4-8) while knocking down three of the four free throws that she attempted.
At better than 46%,
Katie Gard now leads the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference in three point field goal percentage.
The next Titan to record double digits in the scoring column was junior
Tenleigh Phelps who finished with 16 points.
Phelps' 16 points came on just three missed field goals (7-10) while also knocking down both free throws that she attempted in just 22 minutes of action.
For the season, Phelps is averaging better than 20 points per game on better than 65% shooting from the field, both good for the conference lead.
The last Titan to record double figures was
Maddie Gard who finished with 15 points.
Gard's 15 points came on better than 58% shooting from the field (7-12) while also securing seven rebounds, three steals, and three assists.
A well balanced IUSB offense saw every player that stepped into Saturday's contest score at least one point.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, January 10th, when they host the Cougars of Saint Xavier University at 5:30 PM in the Student Activities Center.
