MILLINGTON, Tenn- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (1-3, 0-0 CCAC) dropped both games of day two of their opening weekend, falling to the University of Northwestern Ohio 25-3 before losing in game two to Freed-Hardeman University by a final score of 15-0.
Game 1
The Racers of Northwestern Ohio scored at least one run in all six innings they came to the plate, including 10 runs in the bottom of the third to defeat the Titans.
Shortstop
Jack Ryan got IU South Bend on the board in the top of the third inning when he reached on ar error, scoring third baseman
Logan Smith.
The Titans plated another run in the top of the fourth inning when
Logan Smith hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate right fielder
Donnie Necas.
Catcher
Anthony Pohl's seventh inning double to left field scored designated hitter
Kaleb Farnham and capped off the scoring for IUSB.
Game 2
IU South Bend to the Lions of Freed-Hardeman by a final score of 15-0 in game two.
Freed-Hardeman plated runs in every inning but the fourth to go on to beat the Titans by double digits.
IUSB saw their best chance to score come in the bottom of the second inning when
Charlie Martini was hit by a pitch then advanced to second base on a passed ball. However, Martini was stranded at second and the Titans could not get on the board for the remainder of the game.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, February 21st, when they travel to Upland, Ind., to take on the Trojans of Taylor University.
