SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (27-1, 19-1 CCAC) defeated the Judson University Eagles (2-25, 2-18 CCAC) by a final score of 109-61.
Saturday's victory makes IU South Bend winners in 27 of their 28 games and helps the Titans clinch the best regular season record in school history.
A well balanced Titans offense featured all five starters scoring in double figures while outscoring Judson in three of the four quarters including allowing a season low four points in the third quarter.
The Titans scored on their first possession of Saturday's victory and proceeded to maintain the lead for the entire game.
Two IUSB Titans scored north of 20 points as
Katie Gard and
Tenleigh Phelps led the team with 24 points.
Gard's 24 points came on almost 70% shooting from the field (9-13) while burying three triples and dishing out three assists.
Phelps' 24 points came via 83% shooting from the field while missing only two of the field goals that she attempted (10-12) while also sinking all four free throws that she attempted in just 26 minutes of playing time.
Other top IU South Bend scorers included
Maddie Gard who finished with 17 points,
Jazmen Watts who finished with 16 points and
Emma Fisher who finished with 11 points.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Tuesday, February 27th, when they begin the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament against the Fighting Saints of Saint Francis at 7:00 PM ET in the Student Activities Center.
