Titans Sweep Bees on the Road

IUSB took care of business on Saturday in a three-set sweep of St. Ambrose.

DAVENPORT, Iowa --- IU South Bend volleyball brought the energy early and never let up, powering past St. Ambrose in straight sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-19) for a decisive Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win on Saturday morning. The team continued its strong play of late, delivering its third-straight sweep this week.

The Titans (8-16, 4-6 CCAC) hit an efficient .262 as a team and outpaced the Fighting Bees (9-14, 4-7 CCAC) in nearly every statistical category, racking up 43 kills to SAU's 23.

Leading the charge was Emalee Maesch, who turned in a dominant all-around effort with 12 kills, .458 hitting, and a pair of service aces. Kendall Gerdes was equally sharp at the net, notching seven kills on .700 hitting, while Alyssa Carson added eight kills and nine points overall.

Setter Brynn Lake ran the offense with precision, dishing out 31 assists and adding six digs, two aces, and a block assist. Defensively, Sydney Hanna anchored the back row with 11 digs, helping the Titans limit the Bees to just a .093 attack percentage.

IU South Bend's balanced effort showed in every phase — 11 service aces, five total blocks, and steady defense that kept St. Ambrose off rhythm. The Titans pulled away late in each set, using aggressive serving and clutch attacking to seal the sweep.

The Titans return to action on Tuesday on their home court, hosting a "Dig Pink" Night at 7:00 pm against Mount Mary.
