ELGIN, Ill. — The IU South Bend women's volleyball team secured a decisive Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) victory on Tuesday night, controlling the match against Judson University for a straight-set sweep (25-23, 25-16, 25-19) at the Lindner Fitness Center.
This key conference win moves the Titans' overall record to 6-16 and improves their CCAC standing to 2-6.
After prevailing in a tight opening set, 25-23, the Titans established their dominance in the following frames. They quickly commanded the second set for a comfortable 25-16 victory before closing out the sweep with a 25-19 performance in the third. IU South Bend's offense proved far more efficient, registering 35 kills and a .172 hitting percentage while holding the Eagles to just a .077 mark for the match.
Junior Emalee Maesch delivered an outstanding all-around performance, leading the Titans with a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs. Setting the pace was Brynn Lake, who smoothly directed the offense for 28 assists.
Other notable performances included Ryleigh Grott, who was highly effective at the net with 8 kills on a stellar .538 hitting percentage, along with a team-high 2 service aces. Defensively, libero Sydney Hanna anchored the back row, leading all players with 15 digs, and Kimora Gorman contributed up front with 6 kills and 2 block assists.
The Titans return to the Student Activities Center on Thursday to take on Governors State. Game time is set for 7:00 PM
