Titans Drop Hard-Fought Match to Saint Francis

SOUTH BEND, IN - The IU South Bend women's volleyball team (5-12, 1-2 CCAC) fell to the University of St. Francis (IL) (5-9, 2-2 CCAC) tonight in a hard-fought match at home, losing 3-1. The Titans took the third set in a thrilling 31-29 victory, but ultimately dropped the first, second, and fourth sets with scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-19, respectively.

The Titans struggled with errors throughout the match, committing 60 total errors that proved to be too much for them to overcome.

Leading the charge for IU South Bend was Emalee Maesch, who recorded a team-high 14 kills and two blocks. Brynn Lake was the primary playmaker with an impressive 39 assists and also contributed four aces. On defense, Sydney Hanna led the way with 23 digs.

For St. Francis (IL), Alyssa Teske led her team with 15 kills, two aces, and two blocks. Talia Messana had a team-high 22 assists, while Mya Broadway tallied 20 digs and two aces.

The Titans will be in action next on September 23 at Olivet Nazarene University. Game time is set for 8:00 PM Eastern Time/7:00 PM Central.
