Box Score Bourbonnais, IL - The IU South Bend volleyball team fell to Olivet Nazarene University in a 3-0 loss on Tuesday night.
The Titans were defeated with set scores of 21-25, 14-25, and 13-25.
This loss brings the team's overall record to 5-13, with a conference record of 1-3.
The match saw the Titans unable to match the offensive rhythm of their opponent.
The first set was a close battle, with the Titans keeping pace and tying the game late at 16-16.
However, Olivet Nazarene pulled ahead and closed out the set 25-21.
The second and third sets saw the Tigers take control early, establishing significant leads that the Titans couldn't overcome.
The Tigers' defensive play, including a key block in the first set, disrupted the Titans' attack.
The Titans struggled with attack errors throughout the match, contributing to the final scores.
Despite the tough loss, several Titans had strong individual performances. Alyssa Carson led the team with eight kills, while Emalee Maesch added five. Ryleigh Grott contributed four kills and a block assist. Brynn Lake was the team's primary setter, finishing with 12 assists, and Mallorie Elliott added seven assists. The Titans will look to rebound on Thursday, September 25, when they take on Trinity Christian. Game time is set for 7:00 PM EST at the IU South Bend Student Activities Center.
