HOME AT LAST: WOMEN’S BASKETBALL WELCOMES IU NORTHWEST TO THE SAC THURSDAY

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend women's basketball (2-0) returns home after two road wins over IU Northwest and Governors State to begin the season. The Titans host the RedHawks Thursday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. for their 2020-21 home debut in the Student Activities Center.

The last time the Titans played at home was back on Tuesday, Feb. 25 against St. Ambrose in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. IUSB defeated the Fighting Bees in thrilling double-overtime fashion by a score of 89-80.
 
In its first two games, IU South Bend outscored its opponents 145-103 while forcing a total of 62 turnovers. Leading IUSB is junior Rachael Robards who is averaging 14.5 ppg and shooting 50 percent from the field. Also averaging in double figures is sophomore Maddie Gard (12.5 ppg) and junior Sara Doi (11.0 ppg).
 
Thursday's contest will be the eighth game of the season for IU Northwest and the second time facing IUSB. Last time out, the 2-5 IUN Redhawks beat Trinity International 77-67 with four players scoring in double figures. Leading the team was sophomore Breanna Boles with 21 points and seven rebounds. On Dec. 5, IU Northwest started hot against the Titans with a 9-0 run to start the first quarter until senior Taitlyn Trenshaw scored the first points of the game for IUSB at the 2:19 mark. A monster fourth quarter for the Titans secured the win after outscoring the Redhawks by 17 points.
