The Titans dropped the first set 25-21, before winning three straight sets to win the match, 3-1. IU South Bend pulled out a crucial 25-21 win in the second to even the match at one apiece. After the Titans cruised to a 25-14 victory in the third, IUSB carried the momentum into the fourth for a 25-23 nail-biting win, capped by a match-ending ace by senior
Hannah Marchand.
IUSB put together its attacking frame against the Lynx in the third, hitting a game-high .303 with 14 kills. Defensively, the Titans totaled 75 digs and seven blocks.
Marchand paced the attack with a season-high 25 kills off 52 attempts, good for a .346 attacking percentage while senior
Julie Brown chipped in a season-high 16 kills.
Junior
McKenzie Powell led the defense that saw four different Titans finish with double-digit digs. Powell led the way with 14 digs while
Alexis Issette added 13 and
Courtney Lengacher and Marchand added 10 apiece, respectively.
IUSB held the new CCAC affiliate Lincoln College to a .175 attacking clip while holding the small advantage in kills (59-56) and digs (75-73) Saturday.
The Titans hit the road for their next two matches next week, beginning at Calumet of St. Joseph on Tuesday, March 16 before travelling to Bourbonnais for a battle at Olivet Nazarene on Thursday, March 18.
IUSB returns home next Saturday, March 20, welcoming Governors State at 7:30 p.m. inside the SAC.
