BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Indiana University South Bend volleyball team snapped its five-game winning streak on the road Thursday evening at Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference leader Olivet Nazarene. With the loss, the Titans drop to 8-3 during conference play.

After dropping the first frame, 25-21, IU South Bend used a thrilling 32-30 second set victory to even the match at 1-1. The Tigers responded with back-to-back sets, 25-20 and 25-20, to seal the win and improved to 12-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 at home.
Reigning CCAC Attacker of the Week,
Hannah Marchand, tied for a game-high 18 kills while
Julie Brown and
Amber Jacobs both registered double-digit kills with 13 and 10, respectively. Marchand rejected a game-high seven blocks (6 assists, 1 solo) while Brown and
Alexis Issette chipped in four apiece.
As a team, the Titans held the 11-7 advantage in blocks for the game.
McKenzie Powell, Reigning CCAC Setter of the Week, averaged 10.8 assists per set after dishing out 43 total assists to lead the offense. Sophomore
Whitney Gessinger collected a team-high 29 digs while Powell also added 23 on the night. Junior
Courtney Lengacher was the lone Titan that was credited with an ace.
As a team, IU South Bend finished with 59 kills and a .188 attacking percentage. ONU registered 69 kills on a .198 clip. The Tigers held a slim 130-121 edge in digs and recorded 12 aces to IUSB's one.
