Box Score ROSEMONT, Ill.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (0-4, 0-0 CCAC) lost a pair of games in day two of their opening weekend. The Titans fell to Concorida University (Mich.) by a score of 16-1 before dropping game two of their doubleheader to Madonna University by a final score of 3-2.
Game 1
Tied 0-0 through three innings of play, the Cardinals of Concordia plated five runs on five hits to take a 5-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth.
Concordia broke the game open in the top of the fifth when they plated 11 runs on seven hits to take a 16-0 lead going into the games final frame.
The Titans plated their loan run of Saturday's game one in the bottom of the fifth when left fielder
Kaitlynne Allen grounded into a fielders choice to score
Grace Swangin to cut the deficit to 16-1.
IU South Bend could not plate another run in the fifth and ultimately fell to Concordia University by a final score of 16-1
Game 2
The Titans jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when catcher
Maddie Leisher connected on a two run home run that scored her and
Kaitlynne Allen to give IUSB the lead through one half inning of play.
Madonna University scratched across one run in the bottom of the third inning to cut the IU South Bend lead to 2-1.
Game two remained 2-1 until the bottom of the seventh inning when Madonna right fielder Alissa Gauthier hit a double to drive in two runs and give the Crusaders a 3-2 victory.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Sunday, March 3rd, when they travel to New Albany, Ind., to play a doubleheader against Indiana University Southeast at 1:00 PM ET.
