CHICAGO --- After helping lead IU South Bend softball to one of the top offensive seasons in program history, freshmen Peyton Norman and Ella Chelminiak earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) postseason recognition, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Norman was named First Team All-CCAC, while Chelminiak earned Second Team All-CCAC honors following breakout freshman campaigns that helped the Titans tie the program record for home runs in a season with 19.

Peyton Norman | First Team All-CCAC

Freshman infielder Peyton Norman emerged as one of the conference's top newcomers while showcasing versatility across the diamond, splitting time between first base, third base, and catcher.

Norman appeared in 46 games and led the Titans offensively with a .404 batting average, adding 57 hits, 42 RBI, 13 doubles, and six home runs while posting a .624 slugging percentage.

She caught fire late in the season, delivering several dominant performances during conference play. On April 1 against Mount Mary, Norman drove in 10 runs across a doubleheader, including a five-RBI performance in each game. She followed that with another huge outing on April 16 against Judson, going 3-for-4 with a game-winning grand slam in the top of the seventh. She later added a four-RBI game against Trinity Christian (April 29) in the CCAC Tournament.

Ella Chelminiak | Second Team All-CCAC

Freshman outfielder Ella Chelminiak quickly established herself as one of the Titans' most dangerous hitters, combining elite contact ability early in the season with increasing power as the year progressed.

Chelminiak finished the season batting .369 with 52 hits, 34 RBI, 13 doubles, four triples, and four home runs, while recording a .603 slugging percentage and .423 on-base percentage.

One of the most memorable performances of the season came on April 22 against Trinity Christian, when Chelminiak blasted two three-run home runs in the same inning, finishing the game with six RBIs in a dominant offensive explosion.

She also opened her collegiate career on a tear, recording three games of at least three hits in the first four games of the season while consistently leading the Titans in batting average during the early portion of the schedule.
