SOUTH BEND --- Adding to an already historic senior campaign, IU South Bend libero Sydney Hanna has been named to the AVCA NAIA MidNorth Region Team as an Honorable Mention, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced this week. Hanna is one of just eight student-athletes from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) to earn all-region honors.

Hanna capped her four-year Titan career as the most prolific defender in program history. The Granger, Indiana native set IU South Bend single-season and career records for digs, collecting 631 digs this fall and finishing with 1,848 career digs — both the highest marks ever by a Titan.

Her defensive brilliance was on full display on October 29 against Viterbo, when she delivered a school-record 45 digs in a single match. Earlier in November, she was named CCAC Defender of the Week, and she later garnered First Team All-CCAC recognition for her season-long excellence.

Across 121 sets, Hanna averaged more than 5.2 digs per set, and added 26 service aces. Her leadership and consistency in the back row were instrumental in IU South Bend's success throughout 2025.

Hanna closes her career as a four-year starter, program digs leader, and one of only a handful of Titans ever to receive both conference and regional honors in the same season.
