CHICAGO --- Alyssa Carson's presence at the net powered Indiana University South Bend last week, and on Tuesday it earned her another conference accolade. The sophomore was selected as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Defender of the Week after totaling eight blocks across a pair of matches for the Titans.

Carson was a force at the net across two matches, totaling eight blocks over eight sets while averaging 1.00 blocks per set. The sophomore also contributed heavily on the attack, finishing the week with 27 kills and a .293 hitting percentage.

She opened the week by setting a personal best with five total blocks in a 3-1 victory over Saint Xavier. Carson recorded three solo blocks and two block assists while adding 11 kills in the conference win.

Carson followed with another strong performance at Olivet Nazarene, matching her career high with three solo blocks while producing a team-high 16 kills on 30 attacks. She hit .367 in the four-set match and finished with 19 total points.

Across the two contests, Carson recorded six solo blocks, two block assists and 27 kills, showcasing her ability to impact matches on both sides of the net.

Tuesday's recognition marks Carson's second CCAC weekly honor of the 2026 season. She was named CCAC Attacker of the Week following the opening week of the season in August, giving her weekly awards for both her offensive and defensive play this year.

The Titans will be back in action at home twice this week, facing Viterbo at 6:00 pm on Wednesday and Calumet College of St. Joseph at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
