Titans Handle Business in Road Sweep at Mount Mary

MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- IU South Bend took care of business Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep at Mount Mary, earning 18-0 and 23-2 run-rule victories.

The Titans did what they needed to do on offense and defense to earn a pair of conference wins with an overall scoring margin of 39 runs.

Game One: IU South Bend 18, Mount Mary 0 (5 innings)

IU South Bend totaled 18 hits and scored in every inning, highlighted by a seven-run second frame. Peyton Norman drove in five runs, Reece Douglass added four hits and two RBIs, and Grace Swangin collected three hits.

Savannah Hamilton tossed a five-inning shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out nine.

Hamilton added a pair of doubles on the offensive end, as the team totaled five extra-base hits in the win.

Game Two: IU South Bend 23, Mount Mary 2 (5 innings)

Game two featured an immediate offensive surge.

IU South Bend erupted for 12 runs in the first inning. The Titans finished with 22 hits and saw contributions from throughout the order.

Douglass drove in four runs, Norman added five RBIs, and Cassi Reams homered as part of a four-hit performance .

Delanie Bronner earned her first start and reached base three times, recorded a hit, drove in a run, and scored while drawing two walks.

McKenzie Timm handled the work in the circle, throwing five innings and allowing just two hits while striking out four.

The Titans will be back on the field on Friday at St. Francis, battling the Saints in a single game at 2:30 pm ET.
