TITANS SEASON SNAPSHOT

IU South Bend (14-28, 10-17 CCAC) brings a lineup that can produce — and a season defined by clutch, unforgettable swings.

The Titans have a slew of offensive weapons, leading to a team batting average of .301 to go along with 226 runs scored and 17 home runs.

Young talent has been a major catalyst for the Titans. Freshman Peyton Norman has come on strong in her rookie year, logging a .386 batting average, five homers, 37 RBI and a .583 slugging percentage. Another first year student-athlete, Ella Chelminiak, enters the postseason boasting a .357 average with eight doubles, four triples, and three home runs.

Reece Douglass is the veteran presence in the lineup, offering a junior year of four home runs, 32 RBI and a .341 batting average.

The Titans know how to get the job done in the clutch, providing two highlight plays in the final two weeks of the season. Both came as game-winning grand slams in the top of the seventh inning: one from Peyton Norman at Judson and one from Reece Douglass at Trinity Christian.

IN THE CIRCLE

The Titans have a three-headed attack in the circle with Savannah Hamilton carrying the bulk of the load. The junior logged 114 innings pitched on the year, including five wins, seven complete games and 90 strikeouts. Elyse Starr also has five wins this season in 23 appearances and seven starts.

IUSB vs SAU

The Fighting Bees swept the regular-season series (3-0), outscoring the Titans 32-12 in Iowa. Windy conditions played an important role but it was Pailei Cripe and Peyton Norman who found success on offense, combining for eight hits and five walks.

HISTORY

Since joining the CCAC in 2017, the Titans have won one game in the CCAC Tournament four times. They most recently won the opening round matchup last year and will look to take another step forward this year with a strong tournament run.
