SPRING ARBOR, Mich.- On Saturday, September 10th, the IU South Bend Titans lost back-to-back matches in four sets. The first to Michigan-Dearborn 18-25, 26-24, 15-25, 21-25. The second to Spring Arbor 10-25, 25-21, 21-25, 10-25.
The Titans were led by middle hitter
Abby Seeger with 24 kills and outside hitter
Alexis Issette with 19 kills in the doubleheader. The IU South Bend passing attack featured
McKenzie Powell with 40 assists and
Emma Knowlton with 29 assists in the two games.
Suriya Van der Oord anchored the defense with 43 digs.
In game one, the Titans struggled to contain Wolverines junior setter Regan Rose who impressed in all aspects of the game with 32 assists, 15 digs, and two aces.
Saturday's second game featured two Spring Arbor Cougars lead the way for the offense. Senior outside hitter Alison Nibbelink had 15 kills while Freshman Kendall Bollenbacher wasn't far behind with 14 kills.
The IU South Bend Titans return to action on Tuesday, September 13, at home against conference opponent Judson University.
