CROWN POINT, Ind. - The Indiana University South Bend (13-28, 7-9 CCAC) softball team has earned the five seed in the upcoming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament that begins Thursday May 1st at Crown Point Sportsplex in Crown Point, Ind.
The Titans will face the four seed Olivet Nazarene University (23-17, 7-9 CCAC) in the opening round at 4pm ET. In the regular season, IUSB split the conference doubleheader with ONU dropping game on 10-2 and winning the second game 5-2.Â
A round one win would pair the Titans with the one seed Saint Xavier University (33-6, 16-0 CCAC)Â later on Thursday May 1st at 6pm ET. The one seed and two seed are awarded byes from the first round in the six team double elimination tournament.
A round one loss would push IUSB into the losers bracket where they would play Friday May 2nd at 4pm ET against the loser of two seed University of St. Francis (19-18, 12-4 CCAC) and three seed St. Ambrose University (25-18, 11-5 CCAC) or six seed Calumet College of St. Joseph (15-25, 7-9 CCAC).
Softball hasn't been in the CCAC Softball Tournament since 2023 where they went 1-2 losing to the one seed University of St. Francis in the opening round. The Titans beat the five seed St. Ambrose University in the losers bracket before eventually being eliminated by the three seed Olivet Nazarane University. There are currently only three Titans who were on the 2023 team those being Senior
Maddie Leisher, Senior
Jordan Watts, and Senior
Abigail Yarnell. The 2025 Tournament appearance also marks the first postseason appearance for Head Coach Annie Dehnke in her first season with IUSB and first season as a Head Coach.
