Brumitt Digs Deep to Earn CCAC Defender of the Week

CHICAGO --- Indiana University South Bend women's volleyball standout Kadence Brumitt has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Defender of the Week after turning in a pair of all-around performances for the Titans last week.

Brumitt was a force in the back row, totaling 39 digs across eight sets for an average of 4.88 digs per set. She also made a significant impact offensively, finishing the week with 24 kills, two service aces and a block assist.

The junior opened the week with 17 digs and 11 kills against IU Kokomo, recording her third consecutive double-double. She then raised her level in Saturday's five-set victory over Judson, collecting a season-high 22 digs while adding 13 kills as the Titans rallied for a reverse-sweep victory.

The performance against Judson extended Brumitt's double-double streak to four consecutive matches, while she has now reached double figures in digs in five straight contests.

Across the two matches, Brumitt averaged 3.00 kills and 4.88 digs per set, showcasing her ability to make an impact in all phases of the game while helping IU South Bend close the week with a dramatic victory.

Brumitt's honor adds another CCAC weekly award to the Titans' early-season haul after IU South Bend swept all three conference awards during the opening week of the 2026 campaign.

The Titans are back at home on Tuesday night, taking on the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene at 7:00 pm.
