SOUTH BEND, Ind. – In its final regular-season home contest of the 2019 campaign, Indiana University South Bend volleyball swept Governors State to earn a program record 19th victory of the season. The Titans improved to 19-11 overall with a 13-3 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference record.

With the victory, IUSB is now riding a seven-game winning streak while having won its last nine games at home. The Titans have also won six consecutive matches against CCAC opponents, entering into the final two games of the regular-season.

Junior transfer Hannah Marchand led all players on the night with her 21st double-digit kill contest after registering 15 against the Jaguars. Junior counterpart Julie Brown notched her fourth game in double-figures with 14 kills.

Senior Samantha Hockstra led the Titan defense collecting a game-high 14 digs while block leader Brown added four block assists and the lone Crimson & Cream solo block of the night. Sophomore McKenzie Powell dished out a game-high 41 assists of the 43 total IUSB assists.

As a team, IU South Bend attacked at its best in the first set off 39 attacking attempts that was good for 18 kills with four errors. The Titans outmatched the Jaguars in kills, 48-38, digs, 49-44, assists, 34-43 and blocks, eight to seven.

The Titans hit the road for their final two regular-season games, including at IU Northwest on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and at Judson on Thursday, Nov. 7.
