CHICAGO --- Indiana University South Bend junior Luis Turmero has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, following a standout performance in the Titans' four-game weekend series against Grace.

Turmero played a key role in helping IU South Bend secure two wins and a series split, turning in an explosive offensive showing as the weekend progressed. The junior recorded four extra-base hits, including two doubles and two home runs, while driving in six RBI across the four games.

After being held hitless in the series opener, Turmero caught fire at the plate. He homered in both the second and third games of the series before capping the weekend with a 3-for-4 performance in a 13-8 win, including two doubles and two RBI.

For the series, Turmero batted .375 (6-for-16) with a .412 on-base percentage and an impressive .875 slugging percentage, totaling 14 bases and four extra-base hits in 17 plate appearances. He also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, handling 23 total chances without an error.

Turmero earned his first weekly honor in just his third week in a Titan uniform.

IU South Bend returns to action on Saturday against Madonna, kicking off a four-game non-conference series.
