Storms Halt Tuesday Contest

SOUTH BEND --- Inclement weather cut short IU South Bend's non-conference contest against IU Kokomo, as rain and lightning delays ultimately forced the game to be called in the top of the fifth inning.

IU Kokomo held a 2-0 lead at the time of the stoppage, but the game will not count and will not be made up.

Stormy conditions impacted the afternoon from the outset, with rain and lightning delaying the start before worsening weather returned midway through the contest.

Before play was halted, the Titans recorded three hits — one each from Josiah Nelson, Jayden Cummings, and David Aberouette. Nelson and Cummings were also active on the basepaths, each swiping a stolen base to generate early scoring opportunities.

IU South Bend will be back in action on Friday at St. Ambrose at 2:00 pm ET.
